THE BOLSHOI AUDIO DOWNLOADS - KITE

After The Bolshoi broke up in 1988, Trevor Tanner went on to create Kite. The exact timing is sketchy, but what is known is that in October 1992 Kite played a live gig at the Marquee in London.

Kite had a short life and never officially released an album. A demo tape did make the rounds and I have gotten my hands on it twice. The tracks below were captured by Warren Swain.

The sound of Kite is actually very similar to the solo stuff Trevor has gone on to release. Even "City of Gold" sounds very similar to songs he's done with Rathkeltair, thanks to the strings used in the beginning. Perhaps the best track is "Greenwich Park," which echoes the sound of The Bolshoi's "Lindy's Party" period. It is definitely worth a listen. On the other hand, "Save Me" sounds like it could have been on "Giants," though the overall sound of Kite is definitely a little thin without the backup of Kalicki, Clark and Chown.
