The Bolshoi showed up for the first time in The Reading Festival in 1986. The band played on opening night Friday in the third slot, in between such notable acts as Larry Miller and Twenty Flight Rockers. However, later in the night March Violets, Balaam and the Angel, The Mission, Dr. & the Medics and Killing Joke took the stage.
The best part of this 35-minute show is that it offers a new track in "Before You Go To Sleep" -- a lullaby of sorts... Because of the short set, the version of "Romeo in Clover" is pretty shortened, too, though other songs appear to be full versions.
The quality of the show is above average, and sounds like either a soundboard recording or some other placement that's not in the audience. The transfer is pretty good, too. There are some audience noises, but it's not too bad at all. Can't tell the size of the audience, but it sounds as though it could be pretty large.
